Advantages of Lithium Ion Batteries

Lithium-ion battery, commonly known as "lithium battery", is the battery system with the best comprehensive performance. Lithium-ion battery negative electrodes are carbon materials, such as graphite. The positive electrode is a lithium-containing transition metal oxide such as LiMn2O4.
(1) Advantages of lithium-ion batteries:
① The working voltage is high. The working voltage of the lithium-ion battery is 3.7V, which is three times that of the nickel-cadmium and nickel-metal hydride batteries.
② High specific energy. The specific energy of lithium-ion batteries has reached 140Wh/kg, which is 3 times that of nickel-cadmium batteries and 1.5 times that of nickel-hydrogen batteries.
③ Long cycle life. The cycle life of lithium-ion batteries has reached more than 1,000 times, and it can reach tens of thousands of times at low discharge depths, surpassing several other secondary batteries.
④ Small self-discharge. The monthly self-discharge rate of lithium-ion batteries is only 6% to 8%, which is much lower than that of nickel-cadmium batteries (25% to 30%) and nickel-metal hydride batteries (30% to 40%).
⑤ No memory effect. It can be charged at any time on demand without degrading battery performance.
⑥ No pollution to the environment. There are no harmful substances in the lithium-ion battery, and it is a veritable "green battery".
